Mr. Mom

Adam, with the incredible help of his family, took the kids on a plane to Idaho this last weekend. I stayed home at first not knowing what to do with myself - wandering around feeling like I accidentally left my children somewhere, but I quickly enjoyed solo errands, renting movies, happy hour with friends, a massage and even cleaning. I LOVED LOVED LOVED welcoming them home (I think they are sick of my pinning them down to kiss them), but thankful for the time to reset as a wife and mom. Here are a few pics from the weekend. Although Ihad a small panic attack before they left (at which point I did a DNA kit with hair samples and fingerprints...no joke...proud moment), Adam was amazing with them (although he did let Lukas dig a deep mud put in Lisa and Scott's yard to drown dinosaurs and he put Adelaine's swimsuit on backwards like a WWF wrestler ....note pictures). What a dad!

Father's Day
Even though it is Father's Day and we are having so much fun
Remembering all the beaches we have visited under the sun
We have lots of things planned for a great Daddy and lots of treats too
We had breakfast planned and lunch, and we have a dinner surprise too

But it is also like any other day which cannot do without
Adelaine getting a dress dirty and Lukas in time out
So here's a picture of both those deeds, but one of just my best three
Somehow when I look at these pictures, the day is also somehow for me

Getting pretty thankful Adam is obsessed with planting fruit trees, etc
Just love when the weather is good and we get outside....particularly because the strawberries are just getting ripe (and the best thing I've ever had) with raspberries and blueberries not far behind. Cherry trees, a pear tree and peach tree will bear fruit too. ...all in our front yard. Well done Adam.
These pictures are of me feeding Adelaine some strawberries from the front yard.

No Roses for the Rose Festival
So, because of the long gloom here in Portland there are barely any roses for Portland's grand parades and festivals and gardens. It was a little nicer today and kids and I feeling better, so here are two pictures of our backyardians. Hope to have lots of pictures of our fresh garden berries and the kids in the sun soon!
