Little girl what will I do?...now that you are turning 2?

My mom came this last weekend and it was great....nothing big to report, but a pleasant weekend. We celebrated Adelaine's birthday a little early since family was in town (we'll do stuff next week with just our immediate family). The girl is going strong into two-ville and it looks like we might need to either invest in bulk earplugs or get a little cushion for her tiny butt when it sits in the corner - holy cow that girl can scream "No" with power. Don't let the sweet smile and prairie dress fool you. I pity da' foo' that messes with her! I pity da' foo'!

ET - Go Home!

SO, I have two running ET Jokes in my life: My family has hidden a few little ET things places in other family member's houses and since college my roommates (and best friends from Colorado) have collected and hidden various ET dolls/statues in each other's peanut butter/tampon boxes/showers....you get the drift. Anyhow, I currently am in possession of one of those ET dolls - it is large and when you press it's hand it says phrases (in a disturbing, shaky voice) such as: "Be good" "Phone home" "home home home".

Well, Adam started a joke with Lukas where Adam will put the ET doll in Lukas room somewhere. Lukas laughs and then puts the toy outside his room, finding the doll a little freaky. It has been pretty funny actually with Adam at night asking Lukas "Lukas, do you want ET to cuddle with you tonight?"..."Lukas says..."No way"....it then progressed to when Lukas found the ET doll in his room he no longer "placed" ET in the hall, he chucked him out of his room or threw him down the stairs. Then one night Lukas woke up crying with ET unexpectantly in his arms crying (Adam's doing - NOT Anna's doing)....saying "take ET out, too scary".

*****The next night Lukas asked where ET was and we said that we had put him in the garage. Lukas then dramatically started to act like ET was coming in from the garage. Later we asked, "What? Do you want us to put him in the trash?" Lukas said, "No, I want to poop on ET." Just another confusing funny/ yet inappropriate moment in the life of my son.

Already Aching for some Sun

Flip me - it is only Jan 2nd and we have a good 2 more months at least or dreary days in Oregon. Even Lukas is drawing pictures of sunshine (note the smiley flower/plant, caterpiller, snail, and butterfly).

I need some codiene, did I say codiene? I meant coffee. I need some coffee.
